Gossage Jewelers has served West Nashville's Charlotte Pike, Sylvan Park, and the Nations neighborhoods since 1949, now run by third- and fourth-generation members of the Gossage family. Siblings Lesa Gossage Cart and Chuck Gossage represent the third generation, working alongside fourth-generation family members Kari Cart Mayer and Steven Gossage, with additional long-tenured staff rounding out the team. Watch service is a defined part of the shop's business: Gossage provides and installs watch batteries and repairs and services many watches, alongside full-service jewelry repair, remounts, and pearl restringing for knotted strands. The shop also buys gold and diamonds and offers competitive trade-in value on scrap gold and jewelry. Its jewelry lines include names like Citizen, JC Blackburn, Timeless Designs, Gordon Clark, and Hugo Kohl. Steven Gossage, the shop's newest generation to join full-time, has developed into a skilled bench jeweler in his own right, continuing a family craft passed down from his grandfather and father, while other staff bring decades of combined jewelry repair and customer service experience to the shop's day-to-day work. For longtime West Nashville residents along the Charlotte Avenue corridor, Gossage Jewelers' nearly 80 years of continuous family ownership — now spanning four generations working the bench together — is central to the trust the shop has built repairing and servicing jewelry and watches in the same neighborhood for decades.
