What to expect
What to expect from a watch pressure test
- When it is done
- A pressure test usually follows a reseal, a new gasket or a service, to confirm the case has been closed properly.
- Before swimming or diving
- If you swim or dive with the watch, ask for a test that matches how you use it, not only a basic check.
- If the test fails
- A failed test usually means a seal, the crystal or the crown needs attention; the shop should explain what needs replacing.
- Keep a record
- Ask for the result or a note of the test, which is useful the next time the watch is serviced.
